From his early teens Rupert Spira was deeply interested in the nature of reality and the source of lasting peace and happiness.
At the age of seventeen he learnt to meditate, and began a twenty-year period of study and practice in the classical tradition of Advaita Vedanta.
Since then he has spent over forty-five years studying and practising the philosophies and methods of many of the world’s great religious and spiritual traditions, particularly Sufism, Mystical Christianity and the Tantric path of Kashmir Shaivism.
For the past twelve years Rupert has been distilling the understanding contained in these traditions, through his writing, talks and retreats, into a simple, easy path that leads directly to the recognition of the peace and quiet joy that are our essential nature.
Rupert lives in the UK and holds regular meetings and retreats in the UK, Europe and the USA.
